Be respectful
Treat people with consideration. Harassment, bullying, threats, abusive behaviour, unwanted sexual behaviour, and repeated unwanted contact are not allowed.
Be yourself
Do not impersonate someone, use a fake identity to deceive, submit fraudulent verification material, or mislead people about who you are.
Keep people safe
Violence, threats, coercion, stalking, dangerous behaviour, or encouraging unsafe Meetups are not allowed. Never pressure someone into a situation that feels unsafe.
No hate or discrimination
Do not attack, demean, exclude, or promote hatred against people based on protected characteristics such as race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, disability, sex, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, or age.
No scams or exploitation
Fraud, phishing, financial or recruitment scams, manipulation, exploitation, and spam are prohibited. Do not ask for money or sensitive information through deceptive means.
Respect boundaries
If someone declines, blocks you, cancels contact, or does not respond, respect that decision. Do not pressure them or repeatedly contact them through another account or feature.
Meetup safety
- Meet in a public place when practical.
- Tell someone you trust where you are going.
- Leave if you feel uncomfortable.
- Use Block and Report when necessary.
Event behaviour
- Describe Events accurately and communicate important changes.
- Attend and host responsibly; avoid repeated late cancellations or no-shows.
- Respect the venue, host, attendees, and community rules.
- Do not create unsafe, illegal, or misleading Events.
No-shows and reliability
Repeated no-shows or cancellations may affect reliability or Trust features where those signals apply. If plans change, communicate and cancel as early as reasonably possible.
Photos and content
Do not post explicit sexual or illegal content, stolen images, or material that violates another person's privacy or rights. Only share content you are entitled to use.
Travel
Do not misrepresent travel plans, use Travel Buddy for scams, pressure locals or travellers, or mislead others about where you live or stay. Make independent, sensible decisions about travel and accommodation.
Language Exchange
Keep language exchanges relevant, respectful, and appropriate. Do not use them only to spam, target, or repeatedly solicit users.
Reporting
Block and report behaviour that breaks these guidelines. Include relevant details so the safety team can understand what happened. Reports should be honest and made in good faith.
Enforcement
Violations may lead to a warning, feature restrictions, effects on Trust or reliability signals where applicable, suspension, or permanent removal. We consider context and available evidence without publishing internal moderation thresholds.
